NC OSFM is excited to announce a first-time grant opportunity aimed at supporting existing summer camp programs offered by fire departments across our state. The goal is to provide financial assistance to help fire departments foster the next generation of firefighters while enhancing community engagement and safety. This grant opportunity is made possible through a partnership with Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina.
Purpose: The grant aims to provide funding support to fire departments in North Carolina that run summer fire camp programs.
We seek to:
- Foster the development of aspiring firefighters by offering immersive and educational experiences.
- Enhance community engagement and safety through interactive programs that educate the public on fire prevention and emergency response.
- Provide financial assistance to fire departments to ensure the sustainability and growth of their summer camp initiatives.
Eligibility: Fire departments across North Carolina with existing summer camp programs focused on firefighting, fire safety, and community engagement are encouraged to apply.
Grant Amount: Grants will be awarded based on the scope and impact of the proposed summer camp program. OSFM will disburse funds based on budget request and available funding.
Application Process: Interested fire departments can submit their grant abstracts detailing their summer camp program plans, budget requirements, and anticipated outcomes.
