Kickoff CPS Week with a Free Child Safety Seat Event in Apex

Safe Kids NC, The Governor’s Highway Safety Program, and State Farm are joining forces to launch Child Passenger Safety (CPS) Week with a FREE car seat event on Monday, September 16that the Target in Beaver Creek Commons, Apex, NC. This initiative aims to provide parents and caregivers with critical resources and tools to ensure their children’s safety on the road.

The event will begin with a media session at 10 a.m. followed by a car seat check from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Child safety seats will be available on-site. To be eligible for a new car seat, children must be present to ensure proper seat selection and fitting by trained technicians.

Car crashes are a leading cause of death for children in the U.S., but properly installed car seats can reduce the risk of fatal injury by 71% for infants and 54% for toddlers. This event provides families with both the knowledge and tools to help keep their children safe on the road.
