North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey, who also serves as the State Fire Marshal, will announce new insurance ratings for four fire departments in Stokes County on Thursday, March 3.
The announcements will take place at 2 p.m. at the Stokes County Government Center, 1014 Main St., Danbury, N.C. 27016.
The Danbury Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, Double Creek Volunteer Fire Department, Northeast Stokes Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad and South Stokes Volunteer Fire Department recently underwent an inspection by the Office of State Fire Marshal. A fire department’s rating affects homeowners’ and business insurance premiums and helps signal how prepared firefighters are at responding to calls and battling blazes in their fire districts.
The new ratings will become effective for insurance policies on May 1, 2022.
