North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey will honor Rocky Mount Fire Department for 125 years of outstanding service on Monday, Aug. 23, in Rocky Mount.
The Commissioner’s Award will be presented to Rocky Mount Fire Department during a stop at the Rocky Mount City Hall.
Commissioner Causey, who is the State Fire Marshal, will also award ceremonial matching grant checks to volunteer fire departments in Franklin, Granville and Nash counties.
The grants are part of a statewide program providing more than $9.8 million in matching funds for 554 volunteer fire departments.
