North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey will announce a new insurance rating for the Benson Fire Department on Monday, Oct. 25.
Also on Monday, Commissioner Causey will visit a fire department in Princeton in Johnson County.
The Benson Fire Department recently underwent an inspection by the Office of State Fire Marshal. A fire department’s rating affects homeowners’ and business insurance premiums and helps signal how prepared firefighters are at responding to calls and battle blazes in their fire district.
Commissioner Causey will also meet with firefighters at the Princeton Volunteer Fire Department. While there, he’ll discuss any concerns they may have.
Here is Commissioner Causey’s public schedule for Monday:
10 a.m. – Benson Fire Department (New Insurance rating) 313 S. Elm St, Benson, N.C. 27504 11 a.m. – Princeton Volunteer Fire Department 501 D. Donnie H. Jones Jr. Blvd, Princeton, N.C. 27569
