North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey will visit New Hanover county Thursday, Sept. 17 to discuss how communities can efficiently recover after storms and fires damage homes and buildings.
With Hurricane Sally making landfall this morning and four other named storms brewing in the Atlantic Ocean, Commissioner Causey, who is also the State Fire Marshal, wants residents to be adequately prepared to protect their families and investments before, during and after a storm hits the region.
Preparing firefighters, first responders, building inspectors, insurance agents and home builders is part of the Commissioner’s Disaster Preparedness and Recovery plan.
