State Fire Marshal to announce fire insurance rating in Wendell on Tuesday Commissioner will visit the Wendell Fire Department at 2 p.m.

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey, who also serves as the State Fire Marshal, will announce a new insurance rating at a fire department in Wendell this week.

On Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 2 p.m., Commissioner Causey will unveil the new fire rating for the Wendell Fire Department No. 3.

The department recently underwent an inspection by the Office of State Fire Marshal. A fire department’s rating affects homeowners and business insurance premiums and helps signal how prepared firefighters are at responding to calls and battling blazes in their fire district.
