North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey will present an Order of the Guardian Award during a visit to Northampton County on Monday, Nov. 14.
The commissioner, who serves as the State Fire Marshal, will present the award to Eddie Porter Sr. at 6 p.m. at Gaston Fire Department in recognition of his over 70 years of service. The Order of the Guardian Award is the top award given by the Commissioner of Insurance.
