Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey to announce new fire insurance rating for Kernersville Fire Department, present Century Award

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey, who also serves as the State Fire Marshal, will announce a new insurance rating for the Kernersville Fire Department on Saturday, Nov. 4.

The announcement will take place at 11 a.m. at the Kernersville Fire Department, 1180 NC Hwy. 66 South, Kernersville, N.C. 27285.

The Kernersville Fire Department recently underwent an inspection by the Office of State Fire Marshal. A fire department’s rating affects homeowners’ and business insurance premiums and helps signal how prepared firefighters are at responding to calls and battling blazes in their fire districts.

Commissioner Causey will also present a rare Century Award to the department, recognizing 100 years of service since its founding.
