Join NC State Fire Marshal and Safe Kids NC Chair Brian Taylor at a car seat safety checkup event hosted by State Farm, Safe Kids Worldwide, and Safe Kids NC. This event is scheduled to take place on April 10, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Pinewood Country Club located at 247 Pinewood Rd, Asheboro.
The event, part of the Good Neighbor Car Seat Safety Program initiated last year, aims to extend child passenger safety awareness to families and communities nationwide. Its primary objective is to ensure that children are safely secured in appropriate car seats for every ride.
In collaboration with Safe Kids NC, this event expands upon existing child passenger safety initiatives to offer educational opportunities and resources for families within the Asheboro community.
Motor vehicle crashes remain a significant cause of concern, particularly for children aged 1-12 in the United States. Shockingly, statistics from 2021 indicate that one in three children under the age of 13 who perished in car crashes were unrestrained. Furthermore, studies investigating the misuse of child car seats reveal that over half of these safety devices are either improperly used or installed.
“The safety of our children on the roadways is a top concern for all of us,” said State Fire Marshal Brian Taylor. “Events like these are instrumental in making sure that families have the knowledge and resources needed to protect their little ones while traveling. I am always honored to be a part of these initiatives and encourage the media to join us on April 10th as we work towards creating safer communities for our children."
