Performance Standard

TR Ropes NFPA 1006 2021 edition Chapter 5

Prerequisites

• Candidates must successfully pass Introduction to Technical Rescue Course (FRC 1200) PRIOR to taking TR Ropes (FRC 1201) or TR Ropes Awareness (FRC 1202). *Firefighters and Technical Rescuers certified PRIOR to the 2021 edition will not need this requirement.

Delivery Options

There are two options to complete TR Ropes certification:

1. Take TR Ropes (FRC 1201) - Recommended Hours: 111 / Maximum Hours: 133
*Candidates are required to pass all three exams (Awareness, Operations, and Technician) to receive credit for the FRC 1201 series. If any of the three exams are failed, candidate will not receive any credit for FRC 1201, FRC 1202, FRC 1203, or FRC 1204.

OR

2. Take the three separate courses:
*Courses must be successfully completed in order (FRC 1202 -> FRC 1203 -> FRC 1204)
- TR Ropes Awareness (FRC 1202) - Recommended Hours: 9 / Maximum Hours: 11
- TR Ropes Operations (FRC 1203) - Recommended Hours: 51 / Maximum Hours: 61
- TR Ropes Technician (FRC 1204) - Recommended Hours: 51 / Maximum Hours: 61
